Conservative PM 1834-35, 1841-46. Father of modern British policing - founded Metropolitan Police 1829 ("Bobbies" and "Peelers" named for him). Founded modern Conservative Party. Repealed Corn Laws 1846 causing party split. Home Secretary who reformed criminal law. Died from horse-riding accident.
