CIA counterintelligence officer who became devastating Soviet/Russian mole (1985-1994). Son of CIA analyst, recruited US spies from Soviet nationals in Turkey (1969-1972). Financial pressures from divorce motivated initial Soviet contact (April 1985). Revealed identity of EVERY US agent in USSR/Russia, causing execution of at least 10 CIA assets. Received $2.7 million from Soviets/Russians - most ever paid American spy. Arrested Feb 1994 after 31-year CIA career. Considered most damaging mole in CIA history. Sentenced to life without parole. Died in prison (2026) at age 84.
