Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, astronomer, and inventor from Syracuse, Sicily. Famous for "Eureka!" moment discovering water displacement principle. Invented Archimedes screw for raising water, explained lever mechanics, approximated pi. Killed during Roman siege of Syracuse despite orders to spare him.
